Real results for a wastewater testing start with the proper collection of the sample, its transportation, and preservation. This way, the properties of the sample to be analyzed are not modified.

For wastewater testing, depending on the number of operation hours of the entity generating it, a composite sample is required; this means a sample composed of a number of simple samples and at a particular location to facilitate the collection and inspection of the sample collection (MARN Agreement 236-2006).

How to collect water and sludge samples generated in treatment plants is indicated in MARN Agreements 236-2006 and 105-2008.
