Metals high toxicity, especially that of heavy metals, as well as their high persistence and rapid build-up in living organisms, makes their detection a priority in food, raw materials, or finished products for human or animal consumption. Its concentration in the living organism is not immediate, and hence the detection is not as well. This makes the testing of metals and heavy metals an important aspect in industrial quality control. This way, the industrial sector assures their consumers the safety of their food and food products.

We perform these analyses using atomic absorption spectrometric techniques, starting the process with a very careful sample preparation with microwave digestion to discard organic matter interference and to achieve dilution of the metals in the sample.
